Overview

About this product

NAD+ (nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide, oxidised form) is a coenzyme rather than a peptide. It carries electrons in hundreds of redox reactions and is consumed as a substrate by enzymes such as sirtuins and PARPs. Laboratories use it in enzyme assays, redox and metabolic studies, and work on NAD+-dependent signalling. NAD+ is sensitive to heat, light and pH once in solution, so analytical work should define preparation and storage conditions in advance and record them for every run. Supplied as a lyophilized powder in a sealed vial. What the research shows A 2026 systematic review of 113 intervention studies, 33 in humans and 80 in rodents, found that in humans the oral precursors nicotinamide riboside and nicotinamide mononucleotide raised NAD-related metabolites, while effects on functional, metabolic and other outcomes were heterogeneous and often null. It found no eligible outcome trials of intravenous or intramuscular NAD+ itself, and called clinical effectiveness for anti-ageing or wellness outcomes inconclusive. A 2019 pilot study followed plasma and urine during a 6-hour NAD+ infusion in people and found no change in plasma NAD+ or its metabolites until after 2 hours. Counted on PubMed on 2026-10-20. A score shows how much published research covers an area: 1 for fewer than 5 papers, 2 under 20, 3 under 100, 4 under 500 and 5 from 500, plus half a point when the area includes randomised controlled trials and a full point from 10 of them (5 at most). It measures the amount of research, not an effect. Each count links to its PubMed search.

The molecule

About this compound

NAD+ is nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide in the oxidized form. It is a coenzyme, not a peptide and not a chain of amino acids. The molecular formula of the free acid is C21H27N7O14P2. Laboratory work treats it as a redox cofactor: it accepts and donates a hydride in enzyme reactions. The vial contains 500 mg of the lyophilized material. The same handling rules as the peptides apply. The amount on the label is the contents of the vial.
